  1. On January 27th, 2009, PolarOnyx is selected as a finalist of Prism Award with its low cost, MHz high energy and high power fiber lasers (Uranus/Saturn Series).

  2. In the Photonics West held in the week of January 21, 2008, ultrashort fiber lasers become a hot topics to both researchers and application system developers. PolarOnyx has been recognized as the world leading company in developing and delivering the high energy and high power femtosecond fiber lasers. Milestone references can be found:

  3. On January 2, 2008, PolarOnyx, a world leader in high energy and high power ultrafast fiber lasers, announced a reorganization in better positioning for the fast growing market and keeping its leading position in product innovations.

Dr. Jian Liu, founder and former Bell Labs/Lucent researcher, will focus on building a world class R&D team. He is still in charge of business and marketing.

Dr. Lihmei Yang, is promoted to Director of Sales and Product. In addition to sales responsibilities, she will lead the manufacturing group. Lihmei has been holding the world-first publication in high energy fs fiber laser.

  4. On April 5, 2007, engineers in PolarOnyx, Inc. have successfully developed the world's first over 25 W output power femtosecond fiber laser product. This laser has a polarized output power of 25 W and < 300 fs pulse width after compression. This success gives more choice to our customers in selecting our award winning high power femtosecond fiber laser products.

  5. On March 21, 2007, PolarOnyx receives its second Innovation Award from CLEO (PhAST/Laser Focus World Innovation Award) for the world’s first 10 W femtosecond fiber laser. This award, followed by our last year’s award, further strengthen PolarOnyx’s position as the world leading supplier in high energy and high power femtosecond fiber lasers.

The award will be announced during the Joint CLEO/PhAST Plenary Session on Monday, May 7, which begins at 6:30 p.m. and will appear in the May issue of Laser Focus World which is out in advance of the meeting.

  6. In the week of May 22, 2006, PolarOnyx receives an Innovation Award from CLEO 2006 (PhAST/Laser Focus World Innovation Award) for creating the 100 uJ femtosecond fiber laser and impacting future fiber laser applications.

  7. In the week of January 25, 2005, PolarOnyx has made a very successful exhibition in Photonics West in San Jose, California. Its real time demonstration of a < 100 fs mode locked fiber laser has impressed visitors and attracted many potential customers. PolarOnyx also introduced its newly developed high power fiber laser module in the exhibition. This module provides polarized 15 W output power at1 micron.

  8. January 21, 2005, one of our best-in-class fiber laser products has been well received by an internationally well-known institute (we could not release the name by request).  A high power < 100 fs mode locked fiber laser from PolarOnyx was used by the researchers in the institute as a frequency comb source.  They quote our laser “… self-starts very nicely.  It can generate a signal for the offset frequency when we use it in conjunction with highly nonlinear fiber.  Moreover, the signal tunes well if we change the pump diode current and it is not particularly noisy.”

  9. In the week of May 17, 2004, PolarOnyx made a successful exhibition at CLEO. A live demo of its < 200 fs mode locked fiber laser attracted many visitors in PolarOnyx booth (#909). The mode locked laser can directly deliver < 200 fs transform-limited pulses without any means of compression. This provides the most cost effective way in generation of ultra-short pulses.

  10. In Smart Structure and Materials/NDE conference held in March 14-18, 2004,San Diego, CA, PolarOnyx made a live demo of its mini ASE modules. These modules are designed to support fiber sensing systems, a fast growing business.

  11. PolarOnyx, Inc. has successfully made its product exhibition at Photonics West, held at San Jose, Jan. 27-29, 2004. In the show, PolarOnyx has exhibited its products including broadband source and single frequency and high power fiber lasers. A real time demonstation for its best-in-class broadband C+L ASE sources (both module and instrument) has been brought up many attentions from potential customers in favor of its high power, flat and stable spectrum.
